چکیده

Spin–wave devices are regarded as one of themost promising candidates for future computation and data processing. How tomanipulate spin–wave propagation is a key issue in realizing the functionality of these of devices. The existingmanipulationmethods have serious drawbacks for constructing practical spin–wave devices. Here, we propose an approach to harness the amplitude andmode excitation of traveling spinwaves by introducing uniquemicromagnetic textures in a permalloywaveguide directly exchange-coupled to a pair of cobalt nanomagnets. We demonstrate that the imprinted micromagnetic textures, i.e., the 360° domainwall andmagnetic buckle, which play different roles in spin–wavemanipulation, can be interchangedwith each other repeatedly by using a sequence of homogeneousmagnetic fields. Moreover, the suggested architecture could easily be tailored to implement fundamental logic-NOToperation. In light of the internal-field profile of themicromagnetic textures, speculation is offered concerning the physical origin underlying the observed spin–wave modulation phenomena.

Large-amplitude coherent spin waves excited by spin-polarized current in nanoscale spin valves

We present spectral measurements of spin-wave excitations driven by direct spin-polarized current in a free layer of nanoscale Ir20Mn80/Ni80Fe20/Cu/Ni80Fe20 spin valves. The measurements reveal that large-amplitude coherent spin-wave modes are excited over a wide range of bias current. The frequency of these excitations exhibits a series of jumps as a function of current due to transitions betw...

How do spin waves pass through a bend?

Spin-wave devices hold great promise to be used in future information processing. Manipulation of spin-wave propagation inside the submicrometer waveguides is at the core of promoting the practical application of these devices. Just as in today's silicon-based chips, bending of the building blocks cannot be avoided in real spin-wave circuits. Here, we examine spin-wave transport in bended magno...

Domain-wall induced phase shifts in spin waves.

We study the interaction between two important features of ferromagnetic nanoparticles: magnetic domain walls and spin waves. Micromagnetic simulations reveal that magnetostatic spin waves change their phase as they pass through domain walls. Similar to an Aharonov-Bohm experiment, we suggest to probe this effect by splitting the waves on different branches of a ring. The interference of mergin...

Time-Mode Signal Quantization for Use in Sigma-Delta Modulators

The rapid scaling in modern CMOS technology has motivated the researchers to design new analog-to-digital converter (ADC) architectures that can properly work in lower supply voltage. An exchanging the data quantization procedure from the amplitude to the time domain, can be a promising alternative well adapt with the technology scaling. This paper is going to review the recent development in t...

Current induced multi-mode propagating spin waves in a spin transfer torque nano-contact with strong perpendicular magnetic anisotropy

Current induced spin wave excitations in spin transfer torque nano-contacts are known as a promising way to generate exchange-dominated spin waves at the nano-scale. It has been shown that when these systems are magnetized in the film plane, broken spatial symmetry of the field around the nano-contact induced by the Oersted field opens the possibility for spin wave mode co-existence including a...
